Join us again this year for our community Walk 4 a Cure for Brain Cancer.
2022 marked our inaugural Walk 4 a Cure for Brain Cancer. It was an incredible morning, supporting those battling this insidious disease, remembering loved ones, and raising funds to help find a cure.
The statistics are confronting.
- One Australian is diagnosed with brain cancer every 5 hours.
- 80% of patients diagnosed with brain cancer will die within 5 years.
- Brain Cancer kills more children than any other disease and more people under the age of 40 than any other cancer.
- Survival rates haven’t changed in 30 years – funding for research is critical to changing this and finding a cure.
Personally, my family and I lost our beloved Peter Hudson to glioblastoma – an aggressive brain cancer.
Please join us again this year on our walk for a cure, to raise funds and awareness, and in loving memory of those affected by brain cancer.
Where: Meet in Roughton Park, Kirra (opposite my office) – walking to the Rainbow Bay SLSC (approximately 2km or a 30 minute walk) where I will supply a free BBQ lunch.
When: Sunday, 13 August 2023 at 10:00am.
Bring: Any memory you would like to walk with.
Wear: Superhero blue, because whether you are battling this insidious disease or walking for a cure, you are a superhero!
My office will supply purple marathon bibs, the official colour for cancer, for us to again write who we are walking for on. My family and I will be walking for Pete.
All we ask is that you make a donation to help find a cure for brain cancer.
